Persistent Dizziness / Vertigo

Cervical Flexion-Rotation Test & Specific Adjustment

Myodural Bridge

Is a band of connective tissue that links the suboccipital muscles (especially the rectus capitis posterior minor, rectus capitis posterior major, and obliquus capitis inferior) to the dura mater of the spinal cord through the atlanto-occipital and atlanto-axial regions of the cervical spine.

Clinical Relevance:

Dysfunction or tension in this bridge may lead to headaches or neck pain. It emphasizes the neuromusculoskeletal link between muscle movement and central nervous system structures. May also lead altered circulation of cerebral spinal fluid and cause dizziness / vertigo.

Cervical Flexion-Rotation Test (CFRT)

Can be a useful indirect indicator of dysfunction in structures that influence it—especially at the C1–C2 level, where the bridge has key anatomical connections. Positive subluxation idicators are:

- Less than 33 degrees of ROM in cervical flexion-rotation

- Asymmetrical movement in Flexion-Rotation

- Increased headache, upper cervical tension, and / or dizziness

Cervical Flexion-Rotation Adjustment

- Specific range of motion adjustment using Jackson Cranio-Cervical Junction Method
